It really would make more sense and create less duplication if we could separate users from locks. It would make more sense to create a master set of users and then assign the user to the lock. This would improve the system by allowing fingerprints and user settings to be retained even if thr lock was replaced preventing duplicate setup work for the user
Why does this âultimate smart lockâ only âwork withâ Amazon Alexa? I utilize dozens of smart home products and they all have many integrated app options yet the only option I get with the Ultraloq Pro U-Bolt is Amazon Alexa. Whatâs being done to expand integrations? Iâve had this lock for 3 years and nothing is changing. Her I am with a high-end âsmart lockâ that âdoes it allâ and the highest end smart switch from Brilliant Tech that also claims to work with everything but these 2 things donât work together. Super frustrating. Iâve expressed the same thing to brilliant multiple times over 3 years and no response from them either. Smart tech? More like dumb tech.
Hi. A new member here. Apologies if this has been raised but my request is simple, enable date formatting based on region. I find reading mmm-dd confusing and lacking of date format feature is disrespectful and not inclusive. Thanking you in advance.
A bridge module that is Wi-Fi (like currently have) but also has a CAT 5 port so Wi-Fi is not the only method to connect to internet.
Basically a wired, wifi brige. Not everyone is keen on wifi everything and a wired solution would be great.
An ability to set in the APP so two forms of credentials is required.
Example: I would be able to set like FingerPrint + Bluetooth to open, Fingerprint alone or bluetooth alone will not open the lock.
Or say FingerPrint + Code or Code + Bluetooth, etc
It would allow an extra layer of protection.
I hope you consider these suggestions. The bridge wired/wireless being the TOP on my list. I donât like using wifi and typically donât have wifi turned on on my network.
When setting up a new user it would be nice to be able to set up notifications at the same time. Currently we have to exit the user menu and enter the settings/notifications menu. It would seem that setting a notification when setting a user is a more timely way of doing it with a lot fewer steps.
Greetings! I am brand new to the Ultraloq. Currently have 2 locks (U-Bolt Pro and Latch-5-F, both WiFi) and 1 more U-Bolt Pro on the way.
I love the U Home app interface, but it does seem to be a little laggy or sluggish, especially during the set-up steps. After closing the app and reopening it, it will function fine for a little while and then start to get sluggy again.
I was a little disappointed that you need to use Ultraloq Air to control multiple locks. Makes it more difficult to do when away from a computer, and Ultraloq Air doesnât include the ability to set up Temporary Users (that I have found). Would be nice to be able to set up users in the U Home app and assign them to locks.
The main reason I purchased these locks was the âworks with Smartthingsâ. Long time Smartthings user and bought these to replace Z-Wave Kwikset locks I was currently using. While the lock does show up in Smartthings, and you can control the lock state, it would be nice if there were other features available in Smartthings also.
U-Bolt Pro - Ability to see the door open/close state. I have routines set up that give alerts if doors have been left open. Currently, those operate on separate open/close sensors. But since this lock has that feature, would be nice to see that in Smartthings.
Latch-5-F - Ability to see and control the Lock State (Passage, Normal, or Lockout) within Smarthings. The door we use the Latch-5-F on could be left in an unlocked state while we are home and awake. Having a bedtime routine in Smartthings could change that state from Passage back to Normal so the door would lock at night. The same function could be used for routines when you are home vs away.
Below are some early observations/thoughts on the U Home app. Again, love the interface. It is relatively easy to navigate once you learn your way around. But a couple tweaks would be nice.
Allow the user control over what is shown on the âMy Devicesâ page. I only have locks (at the moment), so I donât need to see Security, Power, and Lights. And there is currently no way to even arrange them to put locks first. Having a setting with check boxes to select what you want to show would keep in much cleaner, and easier to navigate, because it would only include the things you need to access.
Be able to delete the default/suggested Scenes. I like having those suggestions there, but we may not need that many. Allow the user to delete the ones not needed.
As mentioned above, it would be nice to at least be able to manage temporary codes via the U home app. Even if using Ultraloq Air for the âpermanentâ users. So you could shoot a friend a quick temp code if you are running late or such. That is not a huge deal for me personally, but see where that would be a nice feature.
Last comment just pertains to the Latch-5-F. There needs to be the ability to manually lock, and the ability to turn off Auto Lock (like there is on the U-Bolt Pro). Even if it is as simple as "holding the enter button for 3 seconds⌠That would suffice. Many other locks have that feature. It gives the user more control of when the lock is locked/unlocked instead of it being fully automatic.
Sorry for the lengthy post. But wanted to share things I felt like could be improvements to the product. They would certainly make it more user friendly for my use case and thought they might for others as well.
EDIT - I was able to find how to set up Temporary Users in Ultraloq Air. So the functionality is there, just not as user friendly as the U Home interface.
