Lock becomes unresponsive/deactivates entirely after one failed fingerprint attempt

After one failed fingerprint attempt, my ULTRALOQ Bolt Fingerprint which I purchased in April becomes entirely unresponsive. It then ignores all manual numeric button taps, all fingerprint attempts, and the only way it’ll function again is by manually removing the batteries from the device.

This is the third ULTRALOQ Bolt Fingerprint that’s been giving me issues. This is also the newer model that requires 8 batteries instead of 4. My previous two that had an endless amount of issues were the 4 battery ones, that your team sent me replacement motors for.

Please advise.

@user13 Hi there, we have contacted you in ticket #258471, please kindly check your e-mail. Thanks!

I am having this EXACT same issue. It took me a while to pinpoint a pattern but this is it. One failed attempt with the fingerprint scanner and the whole thing (keypad and all) shuts down for days (or until I reset it by taking the batteries out).

Is there a fix for this?

Hey, Landsinger.

Sorry you’re having the same issue. It seems like they have an automated system for people creating posts in these forums and then they create a ticket to assist you. Try creating a post/thread describing the same issue I’m sure they’ll reach out to you.

Basically, they emailed me and said they’ll just send me a new lock. Mind you, I purchased my most recent lock to replace my previous faulty U-Tec lock in April, so it’s still within the year warranty they have to cover. If you bought yours within the last year then I’m sure they’ll replace it too.

Unfortunately, it doesn’t seem like there is a way to fix the issue when the lock deactivates entirely other than replacing the unit. Maybe their support team knows something we don’t to get it out of this “deactivated” mode where it shuts down entirely besides removing the batteries.

Good luck!
