Ultralock suddenly beeping 3 times per minute non-stop and logging "failed to unlock" messages

Grr. I just finished getting ultralock to send me a sample replacement electronics to troubleshoot a bad zwave connection on one of my two locks. Hasn’t even been delivered yet and my other lock (which I recently moved to the front door to have some security) is now malfunctioning.

Three times every minute it does a short beep followed by a long one. Each of these has a log entry that says “failed to unlock.” It happens whether it is locked or not. It is not trying to unlock when it happens. It still functions normally from the app and Z-wave.

Yes it’s installed in the correct direction and yes the lock moves easily.
No I do not have any autolock or auto-unlock features activated.
Batteries are fresh and it responds briskly.

It was a very rainy day to do and the lock is much more used to dry conditions. It is humid but it did not get directly wet. I’ve seen other reports of strange behavior from these locks in high humidity.
Working fine for a year and a half previously.

Anyone know an approach. I can try the blow dryer I suppose.

Anyone find good alternatives taht have Zwave and finger print opening? I like those features, but this sems to be a failed product.

For the benefit of others, Utec support indicated this is a known potential issue where rain or humidity cause the keypad to believe someone is trying to access it. They are sending me a replacement exterior assembly, and in the meantime I have found aggressively drying off the thumbpad reader seems to temporarily solve the issue. I live in a mostly dry area, so not sure how practical this would be somewhere with year round high humidity.

Thank you so much for posting the details you received from customer service. I’m in Maryland—SUPER HUMID–and last week, all functions of my lock just stopped working. Now it’s consistently beeping but won’t connect. New batteries a million times. This is a crappy product; unfortunately.

Also. If a door locking device requires a blow dryer …it’s a no for me. Awful product.

I am having the same exact issue. It happens almost every morning. Phantom “someone touched the lock” warnings and persistent beeping. I need a solution. Please advise.

May I have a replacement exterior part, too? I have the U-Bolt Pro model.
