It would be good to have a seperate timer for auto unlock if the unlock is activated from outside the door.
That timer could be set at immediate auto lock if the door is opened from the keypad/finger sensor. To stop someone from following you inside after the door is shut.
The existing timer could be used for when the door is opened from inside. That is handy if you just want to pop out to check the mail, start watering garden, etc.
The existing timer is an all or nothing approach.
