auto unlock stop working since i update the bluetooth firmware, always communication error.
i remove the device from the apps and then reset the lock.
re setup everything, still communication error but if i unlock from apps manually it work perfectly ?
thanks.
Was there a reason you updated the firmware? I always use “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it”.
Anyway, I would make this test - put your phone on airplane mode, exit and lock your door. Stand maybe 20 feet from your door and turn BT back on (NO cellular data) wait a minute and then try to use the app to unlock the door. This will test whether your phone is properly communicating with your lock over BT.
IF your lock opens, then I would remove the app from your phone, turn off your phone for at least 1 minute, and reinstall your app. Repeat the above test.
If your lock opens, turn cellular data back on and make sure autounlock is completely activated and that notifications from the app are allowed. Leave the geofence and you should get a notification that you are “away” - check that by drilling down in settings/autounlock. Re-enter the geofence, but don’t get too close to your lock - you should get a notification that you have returned home (again, check that in settings). Finally, approach your lock and see if it has unlocked (you should have received notification of that too). If it hasn’t, stand there for a minute. to see if it is just delayed. If it never opens (and maybe you should repeat this last set of steps at least one more time), then I would contact Utec and say you have a software issue in your phone.
On the other hand, if you are never able to open your lock with cell data off, then I’d say the firmware update did you in (making it impossible for your phone to communicate with the lock over BT, which is how autounlock works) and I would push Utec to figure out how to fix that.
