Literally about to return the u-bold pro i just received as a Christmas present (after stupidly wasting the time to install it) because it doesnt integrated with Home Assistant. My entire house runs on HA and if it this cant integrate into that system, its useless.
My non-techy wife bought this because it claimed to work with Home Assistant… It does not. Now i have to hurt her feelings returning the gift she was so excited to give me.
It’s s clear the developers don’t care about the customers begging for this feature and the company itself commenting about how they’re too busy with other things. What a joke.
Release a local API so we can build our own integration, stop trying to force users to use your stupid internet dependent cloud platform, its scammy, its sole purpose is to make money off our data, and people are over it.
If u-tec can’t be bothered with this, the least the could do is let the people develop one ourselves.
Here’s how I managed it. It works well enough, but it is not an “all local” solution.
If you add U-Tec into Samsung’s Smarthings ecosystem, and integrate Smarthings into HA, you’ll be able to lock/unlock remotely as well as check battery level.
Looking forward to the techies here establishing native HA support for wifi locks.
Just discovered another way to integrate with HA without SmartThings.
Check this out: https://github.com/LF2b2w/Uhome-HA
I have installed and it works good with my 2 Bolt Wifi
That integration still won’t work with wifi bridge devices though, as apparently the UTec API doesn’t work over wifi bridges (according to the integration docs). Too bad! I’ll test it and see.
EDIT:
Confirmed. I have 2 U-Tec smartrplugs that do show up. But neither of my bridge-associated wifi locks appear. Smartthings is still the best way to get them integrated in my set up.
