I’ve been planning on replacing the builder-installed standard lock with the U-Bolt pro. This is for my laundry room/garage door. Then I thought about making it in addition to the builder lock. Setting aside the complete safety aspect of 2 locks are better and this goes into the garage so it has some sort of added safety already, I’m purely looking at this from a convenience perspective. Esp with my elderly parents moving in with us.
Right now, when the door is “pushed” closed, the default lock connects and keeps the door closed. If I change out the builder lock, the door won’t latch unless we obviously engage the deadbolt. Am I missing something here? Thoughts on one way vs the other?
