Bolt Fingerprint questions/experience

It’s hard to trust anything on Amazon’s reviews so I want to know what people’s experience is with the Bolt Fingerprint lock (not the U Bolt Pro).

One of the things I’m concerned about is that it has no backup power option if the battery dies. I know that I can use a physical key when the battery dies, but if I’m out of town, my house sitter won’t have a key. How much life are you getting from a set of batteries? How early do you get a low battery warning before the battery dies?

Can you set up notifications when you have left the door open for a certain amount of time?

How reliable is auto-unlock?

Has anyone had their keypad completely shut down even though their batteries were not dead?

How well does it deal with imperfect bolt alignment? I read a review that said a small misalignment can lead to operational failure. I have a finicky door that gets misaligned due to weather changes. So I need something that can handle the occasional misalignment.

Reliability wise, is there any downside to installing the Apple Home + WiFi model even if I do not use Apple Home? Might the WiFi-only model be more reliable on WiFi than the Apple Home variant?

Appreciate any guidance on this. I previously had a U Bolt Pro and was not happy with it but thinking about giving the company another shot with this newer lock.

Hi, we have replied to you in the ticket #259658, and please check your email box later.

I wouldn’t buy another one. They released some firmware that turned off the fingerprint. You can register new fingerprints but can’t use it to unlock the door.

I spent a lot of time with support on my lock. They sent me two new ones and I always get the same performance.
Auto unlock only works 20% of the time for me. That is the same performance I’ve gotten from each lock they’ve sent me. They finally admitted to a problem they said would be addressed later.
The fingerprint reader works 40% of the time. That is the same performance I’ve gotten from each lock they’ve sent me.
From what I’ve researched all smart locks are just about this reliable.
The numeric code always works, so that’s what we use 90% of the time. Although there are times auto unlock surprises us and works when we come home and if it doesn’t sometimes the fingerprint reader will work.
I get about 3 months of battery life from my lock.
