A new lock that works with 5G WiFi would be a nice-to-have. My options here are limited and I had to create another 2.4 G network for my locks.

From what I understand 5ghz is higher speed but shorter range and thus requires more power to “listen” for. So IOT works better on 2.4, especially in non data intensive applications like locks and simple stuff.
I totally agree with this comment that a software update push to except 5G wifi would be extremely helpful. Currently, i have to use an extender to ensure it downgrades to 2.4G.
