Thanks!!! Iāll give it a try on my Hubitat C-8.
Firmware works, but the default lock driver does not seem to include door open/close attributes, on Hubitat. Might have to write a custom driver, or find something existing.
I attempted to update 1 of my 2 locks on my C-8 and it completed but said it went to wrong bin? It still works tho. So how did u update yours? Device firmware updater?
Thatās how I did mine, yep. I didnāt check the update logs, but the UI said it was fine, and I see the results in the device logs.
So the logs now indicate the open/close status? Iām gonna try again with the update later. I attempted it with the backdoor lock first. Then the front door lock. The front door lock sent the hub into a frenzy so I tried to abort the update as it was at 0. It aborted but the hub was still logging request like crazy. So I had to reboot the hub.
The raw Z-Wave commands show the door status, but the factory lock driver has no idea what to do with it. Some work has to be done, likely via custom driver.
and WHY do you need an app to pair the lock to HE???
I donāt want my info on their servers!
Also, WHY do I need to use the app to add fingerprints to the lock???
This can be done locally in stand alone mode, but then your paring to HE is lost!
STUPID!
This lock (I bought two) is going back!
Your rambling makes no sense. You donāt lose your pairing to HE when you adjust fingerprints in the app via Bluetooth, or Wi-Fi. I could unplug my bridges permanently and the locks will still work fine with HE, and I could update fingerprints via BT.
Iām not aware of any zigbee or zwave device that sends such detailed data like fingerprints or control of them to the hub. About the best we could hope for is the ability to trigger the enrollment of users, and maybe enabling/disabling fingerprints. That being said Iāve never seen any other lock allow that either.
Iām receiving a Tuya-based BT (wifi bridge,) sliding door lock today which I believe will operate similarly to the Utec, but more dependant on custom integrations since it doesnāt use zwave.
OH MY GOD WHERE DID YOU FIND THIS
After updating to 1.5, the lock because useless. It is straight up incorrect about reporting door locked state. I have been searching so hard to find the stock firmware it cam with. How did you find this one?? Hopefully they still expose the old ones
You may have just saved my lock
Do you know if it is possible to see a directory of available firmwares or have any advanced knowledge as to where I could find the previous (I think 1.1.13?) firmware?
This firmware was submitted to Z-Wave JS but as far as I know, earlier firmware is not available anywhere.
This sucks so bad. I was so freaking excited for this zwave lock I updated from the previous Wi-Fi pro version. This firmware made it functionally useless in terms of zwave.
I tried every combination I could think of for the file name shared and couldnāt find it so thinking I may not be available. I made a ticket with them so hopefully they can send me the older firmware
Out of curiosity how do you see the firmware submitted to zwave JS? Maybe someone there would be able to find the old firmware
ājack0liā on this GitHub issue appears to be the dev at U-Tec updating the firmware: Ultraloq Pro Z-wave Ā· Issue #5445 Ā· zwave-js/node-zwave-js Ā· GitHub
What is Utec waiting for to give Zwave access to user data? I want to have access via Zwave to who unlocked the door and be able to manage the access codes!!! Wake up!
Would love an update on being able to see which user/how they unlocked a lock via z wave. Currently stifling my automations with Home Assistant
@Frank any updates on this?
I am using a Hubitat C-8 with hub version 2.9.3.162 using a Generic Z-Wave Lock driver. With it I can lock/unlock the door.
Like others, I am unhappy that there is no way to have the sensor state if the door is open or not reported.
This is incredibly disappointing to read. I just setup my door with a Ring hub and I was fully expecting the door sensor to work. Now I have to waste on a door sensor for Ring as wellā¦to do the same thing. Senseless.
It is now obvious that no features will ever be added to this Zwave lock which is not really one!! I so regret the year wasted hoping that Utec would correct the situation or at least inform their customers of their intentions regarding this product⦠I am officially throwing in the towel and leaving Utec as all Zwave users should also do !! I discovered Alfred DB2 locks which have real Zwave support!! Chow Bye Utec, you want to impose your platform and your app on us then it will be without me!!
